A late 19th century French painted fauteuil in the Louis XV style of small proportions, the frame painted light olive green with gilt highlights, shaped upholstered back with partly covered downswept arms over a wide stuffover seat with piped edges, on carved cabriole supports. French, circa 1870.
Condition: Overall very good, minor losses to the paint commensurate with its age, the chair is solid and comfortable. It has recently been reupholstered and recovered using Linwood house linen.
