Very unusual pair of c19th English gilt bracket mirrors with original bevelled mirror plates and lovely old deep red velvet bracket shelf.
Good decorative pair of mirrors and well detailed with their fluted columns and blind fret carving and plinths.
They are a good generous size and unlike many bracket mirrors, with these having two tier mirror plates, you still get the benefit of displaying a beautiful crystal glass or a bronze for example, but also having the additional mirror to the lower tier.
I have shown them hanging with some other furniture and a French Louis Philippe mirror to give you a sense of their proportion, although perhaps they would be better to flank a piece of artwork than another mirror, but that is up to you!
The condition is good to both, some sign of age but I would say they have been able to age gracefully.
Some gilt touchups here and there, but they are looking great and are ready to go.
Not terribly heavy, so I have hung them on a chair fr
...om a picture rail, but you could use brass mirror plates if you would prefer, or a single wall fixing and the chain.
