A very fine Gillows ''Spanish'' mahogany framed armchair in a burgundy ox blood red buttoned leather and finished with antiqued brass studs.
This armchair is named in the Gillows catalogue ( volume 1, page 230 ) as “Spanish” chair.
Fantastically decorative and beautifully carved. The armchair is extremely comfortable and would make a perfect reading or library chair, but also being such a decorative piece and finished all around, it will free stand in a living room too.
God original condition and has been well cleaned and beeswax polished. The leather has been recently done, so this is also in great condition.
