Description:
Here is a superb antique English Victorian mahogany revolving office armchair, circa 1880, boasting dark brown upholstered leather stuff-over seat, in good working condition. The chair features a curved bar back, secured by wraparound arms, on shaped vertical supports. Below the bar back is an elegant shaped fan back, uniting the shaped scroll bar back and wraparound arms with the seat frame. The stuff-over sprung seat features a good quality full grain dark brown leather, with brass tacks to the perimeter. The seat is firm, but very comfortable to sit in. The chair rotates 360 degrees. The chair mechanism has been cleaned and serviced and is in good working order. The chair stands on solid shaped legs on ball feet, united by cross stretchers for additional strength and terminate on its original solid brass and mug castors. The chair is very comfortable to sit on, has a lovely colour and is in good condition.

Condition Report:
The chair and mechanism are in good working condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair frame, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair frame has been cleaned and French polished by hand, to a professional standard, in our workshop. The chair features top quality full grain dark brown leather, finished with brass tacks to the perimeter. The leather is in very good condition, with only very minor signs of use. The original revolving ball bearing mechanism is in good working order, having been stripped down, cleaned and serviced. There is some play to the mechanism, but this is perfectly acceptable, and in line with the age of the chair, and will be found in all office chairs of this age. The shaped legs terminate on the original solid brass and mug castors, which are in good condition. There are no breaks to the legs or revolving mechanism. The chair is well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
