Well-carved pair of mahogany hall or footman’s chairs raised on tapering octagonal forelegs. The backs with lower scrolling leaf-carved detail below a vacant armorial cartouche shield .

The solid mahogany seats of gently tapered form with cut corners . Scalloped hand or finger grip ‘handles’ to the rear of backs for ease of movement.
Excellent original patina and colour to the superior grade of selected dense timber . Minor historic repair to one rear support, not compromising strength or stability.
