French Silver Gilt Overmantle Mirror 148cm High

Description

Fantastic and large French Louis Philippe silver gilt overmantle mirror with original mercury mirror plate.

Beautifully figured frame with leaves and the classic Louis Philippe curved top corners.

The original silver gilding has aged gracefully with some areas more worn than others through touch. The frame has been cleaned and buffed and is looking fantastic.

Very decorative mirror and impressive proportions, this would work really well as an overmantle, but could also free hang as it does have the finished bottom rail. Would also work well as a console table mirror or over a sideboard dresser base.

Nice to see the original boards to the back of the mirror too.
