Description

This is an exception Syrian hardwood armchair dating from around 1880. The armchair is stunningly inlaid with Mother of Pearl In a wonderful geometric pattern surrounding finely turned bobbin cross designs. The chair features ogee cresting above turned and pierced panelled back and apron which is also hand carved and inlaid. The seat is upholstered in a geometric star design cut velvet fabric in a rich coral shade which suits it well. This eye-catching chair is in excellent order, solid in construction and the hardwood has a good, rich patina. It stands 86 cms high, 80 cms wide and is 65 cms deep.
