Here we have stunning rare George III Yew Ash and Elm West Country Windsor armchair c1780. As you can see the chair has great colour and patina. There is a Yew wood top hoop with seven spindles to the top section and twelve to the lower section plus two arm supports. This rare survivor has a thick solid Elm seat and Ash legs with traces of old green paint. The chair is typical of the West country design and execution. The legs are tennoned into the seat and wedged to the top. The ends of the spindles can also be seen in the top of the arm and underneath the seat. The chair has lost a little height over the last 200 plus years but is still very comfotable and ready to use. A very rare surviving chair for the purist collector in great retail condition reafor your home. The dimensions are approx 38 inches high 23 wide and 17 deep.
