Oval French Gilt Mirror with Bevelled Glass

19th century
Description

Very pretty French late c19th oval gilt mirror with its fabulous original deep bevelled mirror plate in good condition.

You can hang the mirror as you see it here "portrait" or "landscape" to suit you.

The original mercury glass is in really good condition with only very minor foxing right out on the bevelled edge, leaving the main glass clear.

Beaded and reeded frame with ribbon mouldings and a gilt finish that has aged gracefully.

Not a heavy mirror, so it will hang on a secure screw fitting and the chain.

Measuring:

35” or 89cm x 29 1/2” or 75cm

2” or 5cm deep frame

Viewing here in Uppingham is very welcome in my spacious barn studio but also I have a showroom based within the Uppingham Antiques Centre, which is well worth a visit and have a good lunch in town too!
