A George III Single Chippendale Chair

Description

Made from first class Cuban mahogany, this chair is of first class quality and has deep bold carving to the back, the design of which is in Thomas Chippendale's design book. The internal seat rails are original and the square legs are decorated with open fret corner brackets. From the proportion, quality and style of carving it is very possible that this chair came from the workshops of Thomas Chippendale. English, circa 1760.
