Description

This is a fabulously grand French marginal mirror of great scale and in excellent condition, dating from around 1870. The oval mirror is very decorative with an ornate crest in the form of a shell and floral scrolls to top and bottom. The quality of the gilding is excellent and is in super condition throughout. All panels of the mirror are bevelled and are the original mercury plates. This really is a mirror on a grand scale measuring all of 153 cms in height and 96 cms in width. A real statement piece, it would add appeal to a larger room or hallway and would look stunning as an overmantel mirror in the right place.
