Unusual Walnut Mirror with Oil Painting Panel

Unusual design wall mirror in walnut with a still life painted panel in the pediment. The mirror is of a typical Georgian revival design although it is very tall and thin in proportions. The mirror frame has a great ogee moulded edge with a gilt carved inside edge. The walnut has a wonderful patina and figuring for a mirror of this period. The glass mirror plate is also the original. The painting is in oils on panel and shows a wonderful still life with flowers in the manner of eighteenth century originals, it is a beautiful little painting in its own right. The whole is very unusual in size, design and quality and may have been a special commission. A wonderfully decorative piece, in great untouched condition and ready to hang.
