Set of 4 George III Mahogany Brass Inlaid Dining Chairs

Description

Circa 1810, exhibition quality set of 4 late George III mahogany brass inlaid dining chairs. With shaped top rail inlaid with brass in a Greek key pattern, and further brass to the uprights, each chair has 2 ribbed, shaped spars with a cross-over section and a small diamond shaped cast brass stud. The stuffover seats are in horse hair, held in place by half-round brass beading. The back legs are square, tapering and slightly outswept with ring turned, tapering front legs.
