French Antique 19th Century Gilt Mirror

Description

Stunning 19th century French gilt rectangular overmantel mirror.

It dates from around 1870 and has its original mercury glass that is so hard to find these days and is in excellent condition with no scratches.

It also has its original ornate gesso on gilt (real gold leaf) frame in a beautiful floral design.

It would originally have been used as an overmantel mirror above a fireplace but would look equally good hanging from a wall or resting on a table.
