The armchairs reflect the design of the side chairs, with the addition of scroll arms on shaped supports. The stuff-over seats have been recently upholstered in top quality luxurious ruby red velvet upholstery, with matching braiding. If you do not like the colour/style of the upholstery, we can re-cover the seats in a fabric of your choice, for an additional £50 per seat.
The seats have also been recently professionally re-stuffed and re-webbed. The undersides of the seats are finished with traditional webbing. The seats are firm but extremely comfortable to sit on. The chairs stand on tapering, turned legs at the front and sabre legs to the rear.
Condition Report:
These chairs are in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, chair frame and legs, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The seat frames and joints have been restored at some point in the past (see photos of underside of seats). The stuff-over seat has been recently upholstered in top quality luxurious ruby red velvet upholstery. If you do not like the colour/style of the upholstery, we can re-cover the seats in a fabric of your choice, for an additional £50. The seats have also been recently professionally re-stuffed and re-webbed. The seats are firm, but it is extremely comfortable to sit on. Therefore, the seats are in excellent clean condition. The chair frame has been traditionally French polished and boasts a lovely colour and patination. The chairs sit firm on the ground and do not wobble. They are well built and heavy; which is a sign of quality; this set of dining chairs is solid in joint and ready to use.
