The horizontal back splat with arabesque style ivory inlay with a central vacant crowned armorial cartouche with pen-work decoration.

The back with central carved raised pediment and carved leaf-scroll terminals , the swept arms with a band of ivory inlay and terminated with carved scroll ends .
The 'dipped' seat of planked construction above a frieze of ivory inlay with a central mask . The stretcher base beneath with 'sledge' type carved feet inlaid with ivory roundels .

An impressive and decorative armchair probably produced in Milan , Italy .
In good original condition with only minor evidence of treated historic woodworm and an historic strengthening metal-plate repair to the rear of the X-frame . In sound and strong serviceable condition.
