Pair of Victorian Walnut and Red Velvet Armchairs

Description

Circa 1860, pair of Baroque style, carved walnut armchairs. The shaped back with foliate carving encloses a deep-buttoned upholstered panel and leads on to shaped, partially upholstered arms which are on curved supports. The deeply upholstered seat is over foliate carved seat rails and this is all supported on carved cabriole legs. The red or crimson velvet upholstery is in excellent condition.
