Set of Twelve 12 Early 19th Century Mahogany Bar-back Dinging Chairs

Description

A rare set of twelve early 19th century mahogany and line inlaid bar-back dining chairs, the deep top rail and plain centre rail inset between the uprights and decorated with boxwood line inlay. With padded seats and raised on square tapering legs with 'H' stretchers.

It is rare to find genuine long sets of chairs from this period (more than 8).

They are straight out of an idyllic Georgian rectory in the Kent countryside and are un-restored. Upholstery is generally good; probably about 20 years old with a number of light marks and stains. woodwork is sound with only very minor movement in some joints and a number of old repairs as would be expected. There is some variation in colour of polish throughout the set.
