Regency Painted Faux Rosewood Armchair

A fine Regency period painted faux rosewood armchair. The armchair is typical of Regency design with carved acanthus leaf scroll arms and a front inlaid with brass. The front legs are turned and also with carved designs. The whole has the original painted graining typical of Regency faux rosewood. The chair is in very good order, solid and usable. The frame is untouched and does have some slight marks and knocks to the patina but nothing distracting and the whole has a wonderful country house look. The armchair has been upholstered in tartan fabric this is not new but is in good condition with the odd very minor mark. The whole is a chair with great decorative impact and eminently usable and comfortable. C.1820
