Miles Griffiths Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
They date from around 1830 and are a more unusual model of the typical antique bar back dining chair. They are very much in the manner of Gillows of Lancaster and feature carved horizontal back rails, four well turned legs and a shaped, single piece elm seat. They are made entirely in fruitwood apart from the elm seats. All six are in superb, strong condition, a stunning set of six, omfortable Wiiliam IV antique bar back dining chairs.
