Fine and rare Queen Anne period walnut dressing table mirror; the original shaped and bevelled plate contained in a conforming bolection-moulded frame surmounted by a shaped cresting; the base formed as a miniature bureau containing six concave-fronted drawers and a central cupboard flanked by pilasters with gilded Corinthian capitals; the lower drawer with a shaped front enclosing two lidded boxes, a number of variously-sized compartments and a secret drawer. All of the richly figured walnut with chevron bandings. The shaped cresting reflects the elaborate ladies head-dress of the early eighteenth century.

John Beazor Antiques is a family firm, established in 1875 and based in Cambridge since 1940. We are a traditional antiques shop, but very much in the 21st century. We deal in 18th and early 19th century furniture, barometers and clocks. We choose our stock for its originality and for the quality of its colour, patination and design.
We are members of the BADA. We do not exhibit at fairs preferring to deal from our Cambridge shop where we hold an Open Weekend every November.
Open 9.00am 5.00pm, Tuesday to Friday, 10.00am - 4.00pm on Saturday. A prior phone call or email before visiting is always a good idea and we are happy to be contacted outside of business hours.
