A fine and elegant Neoclassical design painted armchair. The armchair is typical of late Georgian design with shield back, fluted legs and sweeping arms. The whole is painted in cream with details and designs in green. While quintessentially Georgian in design the chair is from the Edwardian period when such styles had a great revival. The whole is in very good condition and has been newly upholstered to the highest standard in green velvet with a cream braid to reflect the chair paintwork, there is a slight mark on the upholstery at the back. A fine chair with a large, stylish and elegant, decorative country house appeal. It is very sturdy and thoroughly usable. C.1900.
