French Paint and Gilt Trumeau Mirror with Original Glass

19th century
Description

Lovely French late c19th Trumeau style mirror in original paint and gilt, also with its original mercury mirror glass.

Very decorative and great colour tones to the old faded or pale French green / grey and the gilding has aged nicely too.

Some areas of the gilding have worn through more than others, but this is age and it happens to all of us!

If you would prefer these areas were gilded, let me know as it is no problem to have them touched up.

Great size mirror for an overmantle but would also hang well over a sideboard, console table, or you could just hang it alone too.

Measuring:

66” or 167.5cm high

42” or 107cm wide

1 3/4” or 4.5cm deep ( this is at the top cornice )

Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!

Viewing here in Uppingham is very welcome in my spacious barn studio but also I have a showroom based within the Uppingham Antiques Centre, which is well worth a visit and have a good lunch in town too!
