Impressive 19th C Gothic Pugin Oak Armchair

Description

An early Victorian Gothic Revival Oak Library Chair in the manner of A.W.N. Pugin*. Made in solid English Oak with wonderful original colour and finish, having pierced foliate arms and finials. Raised on shaped and scrolled legs with brass castors and adjoined by stretcher rails. English, Circa 1840.

*An identical chair upholstered in leather sold in Christies, London South Kensington on 8th July 2009, Lot 43, Sale 5971.
