Very nice quality pair of French mahogany Empire period armchairs, circa 1840.
Beautifully carved frames and of great proportions, the scrolled arms and shaped legs classic of the period.
They are a good comfortable pair of armchairs, no problem to sit in these for an evening if you are looking for a pair of antique armchairs to use on a daily basis, but also if they are for a more decorative use, these would be ideal too. Good size pair of chairs to place either side of a console table for example.
The upholstery I have used on this pair of chairs is a Jane Churchill, Zephyr Gold and finished with a square edge gold braid, giving them a more contemporary twist, but still in some traditional colours. Hopefully you agree!
