An elegant pair of Georgian, Hepplewhite design, shield-back side / hall chairs.
c.1790.
Constructed from mahogany, having drop in seats.
Standing on elegant square tapering legs, joined by stretchers.
Lovely character and patination.
Very solid, sturdy and strong. One side stretcher has been historically replaced. There is a minor historical repair to one of the carved splat-backs, shown in the pictures.
