Being a library chair or desk chairs, they do have a slightly shorter seat depth than a typical armchair, although still very much ok to use as armchairs.
The shape to the tub or barrel backs is really lovely, made in solid walnut and carved with the typical sweeping arms.

Although not newly upholstered in the ivory leather, they are in excellent condition, sit very well and are very comfortable...many uses for these chairs really, but certainly something to be seen and admired.
