Nice quality pair of French Empire open armchairs, circa 1840.
Ready for re upholstery in your own choice of fabric, but the price shown is for the pair as they in the current, possibly original needlepoint upholstery.
Very comfortable pair of chairs with good generous size seats and nice seating height. The seats themselves are in good condition, so no need to renew the seats.
Beautifully carved frames with their scrolling arms.
The frames are solid, well cleaned and have polished up really nicely. There some old knocks and bumps here and there, nothing more than you would expect of chairs around 170 years old! I have had the frames restored, so they should last for another century or so...
I can help with upholstery if you don''t have access to one. I can have the upholstery done for you at £480 + vat total ( 4m of fabric required )...or you may choose to keep the current upholstery and just had them re braided to finish...let me know your thoughts and if you need assi
...stance to finish them.
