19th Century Empire Gilded Mirror

Description

Circa 1850, Swedish Empire gilded mirror. The angled pediment with sphinx decorations is over the stepped cornice and athenaeum decorated frieze. The rectangular mirror plate is flanked by columns with acanthus, ring and flowerhead decorations, and it is all over a foliate plaque and a reverse breakfront ebonised plinth. The gilding and mirror plate is in excellent condition.
