Description

This is a very grand French gilded mirror of great scale dating from around 1870. The substantial frame is adorned to the central crest with two cherubs making garlands around a floral and leaf decorated pediment. The mirror retains its original mercury mirror plate, which is softly sugared overall giving this a somewhat occluded but very romantic appearance. This has its original backboards and is a really fine size measuring a full two metres in height and is 110 cms maximum with including the outward projecting gilt scrolls at the base.
