Description:
This is a fine quality single English antique Georgian Regency mahogany chair, with a newly upholstered stuff-over seat, circa 1820, in excellent condition. The chair is constructed from solid mahogany and features a curved, turned & reeded back, above a pierced fretwork back, consisting of reeded, curved side supports and three pierced vertical splats. The central splat features a diamond-shaped cartouche with satinwood inlay and walnut veneer. The stuff-over sprung seat has been newly upholstered in top quality ivory chenille that incorporates a small geometric circular pattern, finished with studs around the legs. If you do not like the colour/style of the upholstery, we can re-cover the seat in a fabric of your choice for an additional £40. The underside of the seat is finished with traditional hessian backing. The seat is firm and you do sink into it, but at the same time, it is extremely comfortable to sit on. The chair stands on fine ring turned front legs, with sabre legs to the rear.

Condition Report:
This chair is in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, chair frame and legs, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The stuff-over sprung seat has been newly upholstered in top quality ivory chenille that incorporates a circular diamond pattern, finished with metal studs around the legs. The seats have also been re-stuffed and re-webbed. The undersides of the seats have been finished with traditional hessian backing. The seats are firm and you do sink into them, but at the same time, they are extremely comfortable to sit on. Therefore, the seat is in excellent clean condition. The chair frame retains its original polish and patination, which is why it boasts a stunning rich brown colour. The chair sits firm on the ground and does not wobble. It is well built and heavy; which is a sign of quality; it is solid in joint and ready to use.
