Serpentine Antiques has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The legs are fluted and tapered, with foliate detail to the tops. The frame is surmounted with tied ribbon detail.

The chair is fully covered in a muted foliate tapestry type fabric, having a bit worn faded gentry look. The seat is sprung, and most comfortable.
Size-26.25 inches high to top of straight part of back rail, and 29.5 inches high to top of ribbon.

24.75 inches wide at widest point. 22 inches deep to end of arm scrolls, or 20 inches deep everywhere else.
It is a very unusual and striking chair, and would be perfect for any room.
