Description:
This is a fine quality set of four English Georgian Regency mahogany bar back dining chairs, with newly upholstered stuff-over seats, circa 1820, in excellent condition. The chairs are constructed from solid mahogany and feature a curved, reeded bar back, above a pierced fretwork back, consisting of a central carved floral cartouche suspended by four reeded pierced ovals at each corner, connecting with a reeded frame. The stuff-over sprung seats and padded backs have been newly upholstered in top quality ivory chenille that incorporates a small diamond pattern, finished with matching gold braiding. If you do not like the colour/style of the upholstery, we can re-cover the seats in a fabric of your choice for an additional £30 per chair. The undersides of the seats are finished with traditional hessian backing. The seats are firm and you do sink into them, but at the same time, they are extremely comfortable to sit on. The chairs stand on fine ring turned front legs, with sabre legs to the rear.

Condition Report:
These chairs are in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, chair frame and legs, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The stuff-over sprung seats and padded backs have been newly upholstered in top quality ivory chenille that incorporates a small diamond pattern, finished with matching gold braiding. The seats have also been re-stuffed and re-webbed. The undersides of the seats have been finished with traditional hessian backing. The seats are firm and you do sink into them, but at the same time, they are extremely comfortable to sit on. Therefore, the seats are in excellent clean condition. The chair frames retain their original polish and patination, which is why they boast a stunning rich brown colour. The chairs sit firm on the ground and do not wobble. They are well built and heavy; which is a sign of quality; they are solid in joint and ready to use.
