A fine and elegant walnut overmantle mirror in the early Georgian style. The mirror is of fine and delicate proportions with a simple ogee moulded walnut edge meeting in a double arch with a carved gilt shell crest. The walnut has a lovely colour and patina and the gilding has a soft period glow. The mirror plates, which are the original are in three sections just as they would be in a very early mirror. The whole is in great condition and gives a stylish and classic Georgian country house look. C.1900
