Impressive Finely Gilded Overmantel Mirror

19th century
Description

A large, very impressive and elegant Regency period OVERMANTEL MIRROR in fine original condition.

Surmounted by a Classical broken arch pediment with egg-and-dart moulding and with a garlanded frieze below, this very good mirror features stylised columns to either side with capitals of anthiemon and Doric capital motifs.

The gilding is original and particularly good, whilst the mirror plate itself is bevelled and in excellent order. A bit special, this. Overall dimensions: 56ins x 56ins (142 x 142cms) the plate: 42 x 41ins.
