The armchair features a curved shaped bar back, with an elegant curved vertical fan back below. The back connects to shaped arms on shaped vertical supports.
The chair sits on four splayed mahogany legs that terminate on the original steel & Bakelite castors. The chair incorporates a mechanism allowing it to rotate 360 degrees and recline backwards. The seat height can be adjusted by turning a ribbed metal screw on the underside of the chair, while the reclining tension can be adjusted by turning the small wheel at the front of the mechanism. The chair mechanism has been restored and serviced and is in excellent working order. The mechanism is a Hillcrest mechanism and is embossed as well as having an additional label. The chair is extremely comfortable to sit on as it features a lovely moulded seat with a high back.

Condition Report:
The chair and mechanism are in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair frame and seat but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The seat is solid and features lovely grain configuration. The original Hillcrest reclining and adjustable height mechanism is in good working order, having just been cleaned and serviced. There is some play to the mechanism but this is perfectly acceptable, and in line with the age of the chair. The chair features a rich brown mahogany colour, having been cleaned and polished in our workshops. The chair retains its steel & Bakelite castors, which are also in good condition. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
