Very Large Regency Bird's Eye Maple Overmantel Mirror

A superb quality and unusually large Regency period bird’s eye maple overmantel mirror. The mirror is typical of the simple and elegant lines of late Georgian design. The mirror frame is deep with a gentle ogee curve and the only elaboration to the design is a thin gilt slip. The huge mirror plate is the original and in excellent condition with slight foxing, discolouration, and a couple of marks . The whole is in excellent untouched country house condition with a great colour and patina to the maple. A large and very decorative overmantel mirror and a great rarity of it’s type. C.1820.
