Exceptional mid C19th Indo-Portuguese carved rosewood or padauk framed oval mirror.

Stunning exhibition quality deeply and exuberantly carved frame mirror of large scale and presence. The deeply carved and pierced frame festooned with carved exotic fruit , flower-heads , chilli pods and vegetables. The top with stylised carved ribbon decoration.

The original silvered mirror plate with some minor atmospheric 'foxing' . The reverse with original polished rosewood 4-panel back .

A remarkable study of highly skilled carving with high-quality workmanship throughout. In excellent original condition with a rich patina and colour with polish highlights .

Highly decorative and flamboyant mirror of possibly unique form .
