Description:
Here is a stunning quality antique English Victorian beech and green leather revolving office armchair, circa 1900, in excellent condition. The chair is designed with a comfortable curved padded bar back, incorporating a decorative central pierced splat below, with shaped vertical supports either side. Shaped wraparound arms support the back. The chair has been newly upholstered in top quality full grain sage green leather, with brass studs to the perimeter. The chair boasts a stunning quality leather upholstered seat, which is extremely comfortable to sit on. The chair revolves 360 degrees (this chair was not designed to tilt or be height adjustable). The chair stands on its original splayed legs and features solid brass & mug castors (the castors are in good condition). The chair is very comfortable to sit on, has a fantastic colour and is in excellent overall condition.
Condition Report:
The chair and mechanism are in original working condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair frame, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair frame has been cleaned and French polished in our workshop; therefore it boasts a stunning colour. The revolving mechanism is in good working order, having also been cleaned and serviced. There is some play to the mechanism, but this is perfectly acceptable, and in line with the age of the chair, and will be found in all office chairs of this age. The chair has been newly upholstered in top quality full grain sage green leather; therefore the leather is in excellent condition, with no rips, stains or marks. The chair stands on its original legs and features solid brass & mug castors (the castors are in good condition). The chair is well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
