Description:
Here is a stunning quality antique English Victorian oak revolving office armchair, circa 1890, boasting a golden oak colour, in excellent original condition. The chair is designed with an elegant curved scroll bar back, with a bank of shaped vertical supports below, all of which is secured by the shaped arms. The arms are also raised on elegant shaped vertical supports. The chair boasts a stunning quality wide “saddle shaped” seat, which is extremely comfortable to sit on. The chair revolves 360 degrees (please note, this chair is not designed to recline or be height adjustable). The chair stands on its original splayed legs and features solid brass & mug castors (the castors are in good condition). The chair is very comfortable to sit on, has a fantastic golden colour and is in excellent overall condition.
Condition Report:
The chair and mechanism are in original working condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair frame, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair frame has been cleaned and French polished in our workshop; therefore it boasts a stunning colour. The revolving mechanism is in good working order, having also been cleaned and serviced. There is some play to the mechanism, but this is perfectly acceptable, and in line with the age of the chair, and will found in all office chairs of this age. The chair stands on its original legs and features solid brass & mug castors (the castors are in good condition). The chair is well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
