Description:
The chairs were made by Rigaux in Belgium (see provenance below for further information). The upholstered seats are in excellent condition having have been re-padded, re-webbed and newly reupholstered in top quality silk damask and finished with brass studwork to the perimeter. The seats are firm but comfortable. The chairs boast an elegant shaped top rail with foliate carvings, above three elegantly curved, shaped reeded vertical rails, connected to the seat with similarly curved & reeded supports. The chair frames feature an elegant shaped Louis XV style reeded frieze with octagonal turned and tapering legs to the front and rear, united by an elegant moulded and shaped cross-stretcher for added sturdiness. The chairs are very comfortable, solid in joint and would look good in either a traditional or contemporary setting.

This set of dining chairs is in excellent condition. The upholstered seats are in excellent condition having have been re-padded, re-webbed and newly reupholstered in top quality silk damask and finished with brass studwork to the perimeter.The upholstery is therefore clean, free from stains or marks. This is a “true” set of dining chairs, i.e. they have not been matched together from smaller sets of chairs. Displaying a beautiful rich golden oak patina, they are of excellent quality, with a robust design. The seat frames and chair joints are all solid.All chairs are solid in joint and ready to be used.
