Victorian Carved Gesso Wood Overmantel Mirror

19th century
Description

Circa 1860, mid Victorian carved gesso wood overmantel mirror. With a raised pediment which has 2 upright palm leaves at each end and C scrolls either side. The frame has bell drops in the frieze to the top, and it has its original, clean mirror. Pilasters flank it with reeding, fluting and carved acanthus leaf designs. There are 2 oval panels outside and a simple gilded moulding all way around, before standing on 2 porcelain feet.
