Pair of French Victorian Ormolu Mount Walnut Side Chairs

Description

Circa 1860, pair of French Victorian ormolu mounted walnut side chairs of exhibition quality with label “Jeansleme Pere et Fils” (worked 1853-1861). The fluted walnut oval back has ormolu beaded decorations and is surmounted by an elaborate ormolu ribbon with central upholstered panel. They have overstuffed seats, ormolu mounted seat rails and are both supported on chamfered cabriole legs with ormolu beaded decoration.
