Very good quality pair of original c19th French giltwood open armchairs, or fauteuils in the Louis xv style, circa 1880.
Great size pair of chairs, not a small decor size, these are good for use and the frames, the seats etc are all sturdy.
Beautifully carved frames and with original gold leaf, worn in some areas but can be restored if preferred.
The tapestry is in great condition though the colouring has worn from the seats and the rear of the chairs does have its original silk which is worn. You may wish to keep it as is or have this rear panel replaced.
Certainly a great decorative pair of chairs, but definitely a useable and comfortable size armchair.
