Unusual French gilt mirror with a lovely depth to the frame and can hang landscape, or portrait, circa 1880.Landscape as shown, this is a great overmantle mirror for those tricky mantle pieces, or above a sideboard / sofa perhaps. Or it does work well as landscape, as a hall mirror or perhaps a staircase mirror.Not too heavy, so this is easy when it comes to hanging and does have a pair of brackets on the rear of the frame, ready for hanging.The frame is a good depth, hard to show in the photos, but gives the mirror good presence, well gilded and in original condition.
