James Ribbons Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
Our cabinet maker has just given these chairs a chaeck over and polished the frames. He states that he has never worked on chairs of this quality.
They are unusually heavy and the carving is sharp and varied. Please see photos.
The seats are in good order .
That's the good news.....now...there has been over the period of years some restoration.
Having said that they are what I believe to be a rare chair to have been made from solid satinwood.
