Description:
This is a fine quality pair of Regency mahogany armchairs, having newly upholstered seats, circa 1820, in very good condition. The chairs are constructed from solid mahogany and feature a splayed bar back, with a floral carved horizontal central splat, secured by down swept reeded arms and raised on turned supports. The stuff-over-seats have been newly upholstered in top quality luxurious embroidered structured silk floral upholstery, in a base fawn colour comprising greens, crimson red and gold colours. If you do not like the colour/style of the upholstery, we can re-cover the seats in a fabric of your choice. The seats have also been re-stuffed and re-webbed. The undersides of the seats are finished with traditional hessian backing. The seats are firm and you do sink into them, but at the same time, they are extremely comfortable to sit on. The chairs stands on fine ring turned front legs, with sabre legs to the rear.

Condition Report:
These chairs are in very good condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, chair frame and legs, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The stuff-over-seats have been newly upholstered in top quality luxurious embroidered structured silk floral upholstery, in a fawn colour comprising greens, crimson red and gold colours. The seats have also been re-stuffed and re-webbed. The undersides of the seats have been finished with traditional hessian backing. The seats are firm and you do sink into them, but at the same time, they are extremely comfortable to sit on. Therefore, the seats are in excellent clean condition. The chair frames retain their original polish and patination, which is why they boast a stunning rich brown colour. The chairs sit firm on the ground and do not wobble. They are well built and heavy; which is a sign of quality; they are solid in joint and ready to use.
