Description:
This is a fine quality antique English Edwardian golden oak revolving office armchair, circa 1900, in good original condition. The chair features an elegant shaped top rail, below a central pierced fan splat, secured by shaped arms on a saddle seat. The shaped top rail incorporates a hollow centre designed for a handgrip, in order to allow you to lift or move the chair. The chair is raised on splayed oak legs, which retain the original steel castors. The chair rotates 360 degrees. The seat height can be adjusted by turning a ribbed metal screw on the underside of the chair. The chair is extremely comfortable as it features a saddle shaped seat, which also boasts lovely medullary rays. The chair features a rich golden brown oak colour, having been cleaned and polished in our workshops. The mechanism has also been cleaned and serviced.
Condition Report:
The chair and mechanism are in good working original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair mechanism is in good working order, having just been cleaned and serviced. There is some play to the mechanism but this is perfectly acceptable, and in line with the age of the chair. The chair features a rich golden brown colour, having been cleaned and polished in our workshops. The chair retains its original steel castors, which are also in good condition. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
