The underside of the seat has been re-webbed in the traditional manner. The chair sits on four splayed mahogany legs that terminate on the original mug castors. The chair incorporates a mechanism allowing it to rotate 360 degrees. The chair mechanism has been restored and serviced and is in good working order. The mechanism is not designed to recline or be height adjustable (as it’s an early office chair). It is however extremely comfortable to sit on as it features a lovely padded seat.

Condition Report:

The chair and mechanism is in good working condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair seat has been newly upholstered in top quality full grain dark green leather, which incorporates the traditional brass studwork tacks to the seat perimeter and traditional hessian material to the underside. Therefore, the leather is in excellent condition, with no wear, fading or damage. This chair is not designed to recline or be height adjustable (as it’s an early office chair). It is however an extremely comfortable to sit on as it features a lovely padded seat. The revolving mechanism is in good working order, having just been cleaned and serviced. There is some play to the mechanism but this is perfectly acceptable, and in line with the age of the chair. The chair features a rich medium brown mahogany colour, having been cleaned and polished in our workshops. The chair retains its originalmug castors, which are also in good condition. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
