Mid 19th Century Ash Rocking Chair (Or Nursing Chair) of Superb Patina

A mid 19th century ash rocking chair or nursing chair of superb patina (colour) from the Lancashire/Cheshire region.

This chair consists of a shaped top rail with rounded uprights with finials to the top leading down to two rows of five turned spindles, the back uprights having a turned 'wing' at either side used as supports for suspending a cushion.

This leads down to the shaped and curved arms, supported by turned arm supports leading down to the rush seat with wooden protective strip edges to the front and sides.

The turned front legs are joined by a turned stretcher, the sides having two stretchers and one to the back, all four legs being joined by the two rockers.

This chair is in very good condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
